Photography for ceramic designer Johana Hnízdilová's Crest collection. Each component is wheel-thrown, allowing the artist to explore the material limits of porcelain. The ornamental elements along the rims draw inspiration from the historical principle of cresting, emphasizing the contour of the form while working with rhythm and silhouette. The soup bowl thus becomes a vessel for the tension between function and free form expression.
